President's Message

Well, it looks as though spring is really here. The snow and ice are finally melting and I have seen sunshine for the last several days, very unusual in NEPA. It is time to get out there and work with our minis!

Our March meeting held at Roxane Martin's home was well attended, the food and company were great and many issues were addressed (see meeting minutes this issue). The KMHC Spring Fun Show and the Keystone Classic plans are on board and promise to be great as usual so please plan to attend.

By the time you are reading this the free driving clinic for KMHC members being held at Jaye Ventresca's will have happened already and I am sure all members attending will leave there with much more knowledge about driving a mini than they came with.

This year looks like a very promising and exciting year for the KMHC and its members. Remember the club is here for its members and we need to hear from more of you as to what clinics or activities you would like to participate in or attend. Please plan on attending our meetings so that your voice may be heard and new ideas initiated. We are open to any suggestions.

OK, that's all for now, looking forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Respectfully submitted by,

Sandy Gambuti

President's Message

Although most of my miniature horses are beginning to shed, as I am writing this we are in the middle of a winter sleet/freezing rain storm. I cannot wait until spring time comes with the much warmer weather and I am sure the rest of the members feel the same way.

I would like to congratulate and welcome our new KMHC Officers for 2008, it looks as though it is going to be a very busy and exciting year for all.

The weather cooperated with us for the January 2008 KMHC kick-off meeting held at Jaye Ventresca's home and the meeting was well attended. There were some very electrifying new ideas discussed among them the prospect of attending the Horse Expo to be held in 2009 (also plenty of good food!).

The KMHC attended the Pennsylvania Farm Show held in Harrisburg this January and plans are in the works to attend again next year. Of course we also have our spring and fall “Fun Shows” and the hugely successful AMHR recognized Keystone Classic scheduled for this year.

To all those interested in driving your mini, Jaye Ventresca has volunteered her valuable time and knowledge to conduct an audit participation driving clinic on “Competing in American Driving Society Shows”, in her home March 29th, 2008, details can be found elsewhere in this newsletter.

If you have not done so yet, please check out our web site at www.keystonemhc.com.  Sandy Lapp has done a wonderful job with this web site and keeps it up to date with current information and plenty of photos of the various functions KMHC has participated in.

That's all for now, here's hoping I see you at our next meeting.

Respectfully,

Sandy Gambuti

President's Message

And so it ends. This will be the last message I will write to ya'all. I am being succeeded by a very competent lady and I wish her the best. If I were not surrounded by a very willing and more then zealous band of officers, my tenure as president ( not of the United States you understand) would have been difficult at best. Your new slate, named in this newsletter will, I'm sure, have the best welfare of this club in mind.

I can look back at my 2 years as president ( boy, time flies when you're having fun ) with the knowledge that this organization has made some great strides. The Keystone Classic, huge fun shows and recognition by AMHR to name a few.

And so, with some sadness, I bid you all A Fond Adieu.

President's Message

Hi and good spring to all!! Hope every one survived these last two months of bone chilling weather. Your club is now waking up from its long winter nap and boy do you have some plans! We have shows, parades, trail drives and also, perhaps a booth at the Farm Show in Harrisburg planned. I think we have something for everyone.

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank Sandy Gambuti for filling in for me in my absence as the last meeting.  Also, thanks to the Morgan’s for their hospitality. All of your officers are doing a bang up job along with all the committee heads.  Thank you all.  The bylaw changes were voted in and it was unanimous to accept them. Look for them inside.

The Fun Show and Classic are right on schedule with some great prizes and raffle item already secured. By the time this reaches you the Driving 101 clinic will be over but I bet it was a big success. How could it not be? Jaye is the best! Don’t forget to take a look at your club website, it’s got all the information and dates for all the club events on it.  Don’t forget MOTHER’S DAY.  It will be at Kathy & Art LaFrana’s home in Birdsboro. PA.

Well, that’s all for now. Thanks for listening

A message from our club President:

December 2006
President's Message

First, let me wish everyone a healthy and happy Holiday Season. To all that cast a ballot in our annual election, thanks. I am pleased and proud to have so many members who thought I had done a good job in my first term to reelect me. Congratulations are also in order for the rest of the slate, Sharyn Knecht, Vice President; Kathy LaFrana, Treasurer; Sandy Lapp, Corresponding Secretary and Sandi Gambuti, Recording Secretary.

To those who missed the November meeting at the Museums at Stony Brook, I hope that someday we can do it again. It was wonderful, enjoyed by all. Although the meeting was on the short side and some issues were not covered completely due to the time constraints, rest assured that your executive board is working overtime to bring everything together.

Once again, thanks Kelly, for making the fall fun show just that. Fun. I don’t think everyone can appreciate how much time and effort goes into bringing off something like that.

A bylaws committee has been formed to review them and bring suggestions back to the membership. Some changes and updates will be in order.

The next meeting will be at the home of Kelly and Marilyn Anderson and Mike Roe. Directions inside. The annual financial audit will be done prior to the January Meeting.

Be sure not to miss the Annual KMHC Christmas Breakfast at Cherry’s Restaurant on December 3. More details inside. Boy, there sounds like there’s a lot inside!!

Your board is working on a lot of exciting events for the upcoming year. More as things begin to firm up.
